The rabbit hole never ends! 
I don’t do lightning cables just because sourcing connectors is pretty difficult and using store bought cables means unreliable sleeving!
Feel free to ping me any time if you need help.
Short overview of making them is: cutting cable, sleeving, soldering connectors, testing, sealing, (coiling), adding shrink.
If anyone wants a detailed guide I can make one when I get some free time

Yeah. I would be totally into it. Of late, I’ve been in the “my own creations from top to bottom” mode and the idea of making my own keyboard totally fits. Sourcing parts, soldering components, and even flashing the firmware! Not to mention ideas on contributing to the source code from time to time. Making my own cables would be totally cool and fit right in!
Would LOVE to see a guide when you can find the time!

That would be terriffic – I’ve been s-o-o-o frustrated with absolute crap cables the last couple of months! Aarargghh! Especially USB.
