Change My Mind: 40% layouts are insufficient for serious work

First, I apologize for the click-baity title I’m not really that opinionated about 40% keyboards. I wanted to open up a discussion about why people use 40% layouts as daily drivers. I haven’t had the opportunity to try such a layout yet, but I am not yet convinced it could work for me personally.
