how weird is it that my eyes are mostly drawn to the computer and corner lamp in this scene?

That’s a pretty cool composition in all. Good lighting design, good set desing, good screen capture as well.

The shot is definitely structured to emphasize the computer and and desk, Perhaps a metaphor for how Wall Street’s numbers bleed into every part of this mans life.

If you were wondering what Debbie Reynolds is typing on in that movie, it is an Alps rubber dome keyboard.

I happen to have one in my collection - very light - very mushy - very quiet rubber domes.

Keycaps are not Alps mount, despite the keyboard being manufactured by Alps.
