the smoothness of these switch is a hit and miss, I wonder why…

I think this is the last time I bought factory-lubed switches.

I put Phoenix stem in these and:

  • the sound: surely a little difference but I guess I need to build a whole board for further evaluation
  • the tactility: I’m not sure why the tactility is sharper than normal gateron housing but I don’t hate this

Is that a huge gloop of lube behind the contact leaf? Is it there in all of the switches or did they just get careless on some?

I’ve tried this before in my MX clears to eliminate leaf noise (not worth the effort).

I only check several switches and so far only 1 switch has that. I think it’s just careless on some.

according to “my standard”, a few switches are fairly smooth, I guess those are “better-lubed” one.
