[Presale] SA A History of Violets - Extras at ProtoTypist and SPKeyboards!

Any idea if SP will have extras?

I doubt it, since they took the page down. Usually they’ve only done that for cases where there were no extras, like with Sport Walker.

The nov kit I ordered before the rest of the set came in today:

Personal hobby milestone: first time getting to see something I designed in double-shot plastic   I can feel the dorkness rising…

I’d post the purple ones but in these lighting conditions it’s not happening ha. They’re a nice color, eggplant-adjacent in tone but a cooler hue. Quite similar to the renders, I’d say.

Mine are somewhere between New Jersey and Boston, hopefully getting here by the end of the week!

I suppose SP are still packaging the sets ? I have yet to receive a tracking. Got a properly coloured TKD pt1 to go with this set

They’re shipping; a few folks have posted pictures of their sets, and mine is theoretically coming today (they didn’t give me a tracking number, but I spotted it in my daily USPS Informed Delivery email). I’d reach out to them and ask if you haven’t heard anything yet, just to be safe.

Editing to add that someone mentioned to me that the Seattle USPS distribution center has been iffy about scanning packages, which seems to match my experience; my package disappeared in Seattle for a week, and then reappeared in New Jersey yesterday.

I’ve confirmed two missing keys in the Typist kit, I’ll let SP know. I did not receive the ergo kit, so I haven’t been able to check that out yet.

Interrobangs are starting to arrive for those who ordered them. Still a handful of interrobangs left at Saber Keebs, plus some base kits and NorDe kit extras at ProtoTypist!

Just out of idle curiosity, what was the thinking with having the monokit with the cream number row, but leaving the purple available only in the TKL base kit?

The monokit was supposed to be an amalgam of the “best of” the other kits, and the alert row was very popular during the IC - it seemed like many more people wanted the alert numrow than the regular purple. The monokit was already very expensive, and putting both regular and alert numrows in wasn’t doable. So I went with the more popular option.

The monokit is a bit of an oddity, due to how things were going at SP last spring when the set was being developed. At various points, the set was just going to be a monokit and nothing else, or all standalone kits with no monokit. It went back and forth a few times throughout April. The monokit was created at a point when the regular base and separate alert kit weren’t going to be sold.

Will was the monokit proponent at SP from what I gather, and as he pulled back from the company, it seemed less and less likely that the monokit would happen. That it wound up being offered caught me off-guard, because it hadn’t been mentioned in the pricing and kit list I had received just a week earlier. So I never got a chance to harmonize the standalone kits and the monokit with each other better.
