Ex software dev/architect. Now academic. Always loved making my workspace exactly how I like it and find it really important to my writing and motivation. About 2 years ago graduated to full mech keyboards, which meant I could finally put my soldering skills to work and knowing what a circuit or microcontroller (things I had to learn about but never used at work) proved helpful. Eventually started down the rabbit hole of switches, then keycaps, then acoustics, and now finally have an ‘end-game’ board in sight (and it is not a keycult), which I will be carving out of olivewood. Can’t wait to see how it turns out.
