3d Print finds

Made keychain/tags to see at a glance which keyboard is inside

There are instructions to extract key positions from KLE if someone is looking for a particular layout

Just as idea for easier editing, attach the model files for the plain keychain also. The SVG also works as modifier directly in the slicer for cutouts etc as an alternative for TinkerCad

Sure easy enough done!

Follow up printed a keychain in Stainless Steel via JLCPCB services. Took a couple hours of hand sanding to shine and get a brushed look.

Why do I have a feeling 3d printing keyboard things is going to go into style very quickly with tariff prices

I had that same thought, but then again… I think a lot of supplies to 3d print will be subject to the tariffs as well.

I think the only difference for the supplies is that they can be imported in bulk and the tariffs applied to the wholesale price. Prices will go up, and by a lot, but not necessarily the full 145%-175% we’re seeing with direct-to-consumer stuff. We’ll probably also see fewer brands, less variety, and more shortages as well, while importers figure out what will sell and wait for the largest possible orders to place.

Just got a ā€œWe have Voron at homeā€ Sovol SV08. I haven’t even set it up yet. Once I do, this one is more than big enough to print 60% cases and plates in one piece, and I think I could even squeeze a thin-bezeled FRL 1800 on the diagonal. Here’s hoping for minimal ā€œtaco bedā€.

I am puckering up like an agoraphobe on a mountaintop thinking about how well your printer would need to be dialed in, but liquid metal ā€œtracesā€ in a hollow 3D-printed PCB could someday be a gamechanger, and you wouldn’t necessarily need to use PVA filament if you wanted to move from tester to prototype.

Ouuu that is a cool development to see in the 3d printing space.

Love this and think the perfect ā€œlargeā€ one would be two ISO Enters flipped. Always fun to think of things to do with extra ISO enters.

I did not even think of ISO enter fits no changes

Finally! A proper use for ISO Enter!
