A video game about Mechanical Keyboard

Hi everyone!

I’ve been working on a game called Mechanical Keyboard Building Simulator.

The goal is to recreate the mechanical keyboard hobby in video game form: building keyboards, swapping switches and keycaps, experimenting with layouts, customizing designs and eventually simulating different sound profiles.

I’m also developing a career mode where you’ll receive customer orders, build keyboards, package and ship them, and manage your own keyboard workshop.

I know there are quite a few people on this forum who have designed their own keyboards, keycaps or other projects. If anyone is interested, I’d love to stay in touch and potentially feature community creations in the game.

I’d also love to hear your thoughts:

  • What features would you like to see in a game like this?

  • What aspects of the hobby would be essential to include?

Oh yea I’ve seen your game over on r/mk, I like the wide scope you are going for which is pretty different compared to some of the other keyboard related games that have come out in the past couple years. The giant keycaps on the table missing the z-row of letters is staring into my soul but other than that I wish you best of luck on the project.

Be sure to add “group buy keycap designer is shit at colour matching and everyone is mad”

Also, “vendor uses future group buys to pay for current group buys and then screws everyone over!”

I’m not a game dev so I’m not sure how hard it will be, but I’d really like to see a co-op mode!
