Errors dumb ideas pt 2: electric boogaloo

I have been thinking. Can you use a trumpets valve oil to bag lube springs?
105 is hella pricy and since I play trumpet I have a ton of valve oil and actual thicc grease for other parts (similar to xthbdz or whatever the hell it’s called)

Yep. I would say that’s probably fine.

Using oils intended for other applications for keebs isn’t too uncommon. 205, 106, etc. are part of a product family called “general purpose lube”, so they aren’t just for keebs.

I don’t know anything about the valve oil, but if it can cling to the springs I don’t see why not. I’ve used teflon bike chain oil, which worked great (but also smelled like a bike shop). I’ve also seen people use gun oil.
