Gateron X V3 Switch Review

Hey all,

I’ve survived! After a month of seemingly endless travel rounded off by attending Keycon 2025 I’m officially back and trying to get on my feet again with a review. This weekend I take a deep dive on not the newest nor shiniest of switches out there, but perhaps one that I think isn’t considered enough for what it actually brings to the table - the Gateron X V3 linears.

As always, thank you all for the continued love and support. As discussed in the intro of this review as well, be on the lookout for that keyboard related but not switch themed short article of mine in the coming few days! :eyes:

Cheers,
Goat :goat:

Awesome write up as always Goat! Yeah these switches definitely occupy a weird space in the Gateron catalog, especially with their budget offerings arguably surpassing these in quality now. I got a batch of v1 Xs & shortly after got a bunch of Gateron Milky Yellow Pros which I found to be just better overall. So I still have yet to use the Gat Xs for anything as I’ll go to the milky yellow pros first if I want that type of switch in a build. I did lube up a few of the Xs & there is nothing wrong with them, but definitely tough to justify buying anymore of them when the milky yellow pros are overall better at half the price.
