I feel like it would make more sense if you had the tool novelties on the num row instead, and maybe the gold, diamond, etc elsewhere or on the bottom row. Rationale being you can have novelties of what people typically have in their hotbar to kind of reflect how it is in game i.e. Sword on 1, pickaxe on 2, food on 3, etc. Obviously very subjective how people organize their hotbar, but im sure everyone who has actually played minecraft has followed some kind of standard.
