Beautiful board, thanks @norbauer! Can’t wait for my second one hahaha
Tried the mod that @Bruzur made and it killed the noise between housings and plate. Pretty worth IMO

can you post a typing sound test?
Here’s a sound clip, but if you turn it up, you’ll hear a bit of my desk reverb. Otherwise, it’s a relatively accurate sound. That particular sample is from my Heavy-6, but the R2 (once the Mark II arrives) will undoubtedly produce a different sound.
Whoa, nice. If I have the Low Noise FC660C what mods do you think would be necessary to get to something like that in the clip?
How about a not so heavy polycarbonate Heavy6 @norbauer ?

It’s something I’ve been thinking of. I do have about 10 spare retail boxes for the Heavy-6 left, and doing a very limited run of polycarbonate ones might be a good use for them.
Incidentally, the polycarbonate Mark IIs have arrived and should go out end of this week or early next.
Finishing continues on the metal Mark II units. I am supposed to go film the tail end of that process at some point in the next 1-2 weeks. But I’m hoping we’re roughly on track for a late-February shipping date (after the transit to California and assembly work is done).
Only 10 you say… Everyone take a number and line up behind this comment!
oof, I didn’t know i wanted another fc660c
Oh please don’t tease this if it’s not real…
I will post a WTB thread right now for another FC660C.
oooooooOOOOOOOO
So I’ve got an FC660C sitting in the drawer, barely being used. A polycarb case may re-kindle the romance!
Get a Heavy-6! Or hop on the TX-66C GB.
Or send it to me and I will put it to use.

Polycarbs are shipping today and tomorrow. The metal Mark IIs are still underdoing finishing but otherwise everything is done/ready. Hoping to ship around the end of this month.
Here is a quick and dirty video I made on how to maintain the ones in polycarbonate (or, really, any polycarb keyboard housing) and what I’ve learned about the inherent trade-offs between frost levels.
All the polycarb housings have now shipped, but I realized that I forgot to include the four screws needed to attach the risers to the housing. I’ll be sending those separately next week as soon as the screws arrive to me (likely Monday).
Offtopic but you killed me with that Instagram HHKB case teaser video
link please. couldn’t find it… need to jump on the hype train
