This set pays homage to the aesthetics of early punk rock and post-punk. Pink and black were a common color combination in early punk art and album covers, as seen below.

Inspiration
I have always admired the fashion style associated with punk and post-punk. I also think there is space for a set using a very vibrant pink. This set has undergone numerous incarnations, beginning as an SA set and later spending time in the Cherry profile. After a period in DSS, the decision was made to redo this in GMK stock colors, which IMO look very good.

Big fan of DSS so I like it. I also like high contrast between legends and the background color. Win - win. The renders look good, but I can guarantee the pink won’t pop that bright on the alphas. It just never works out that way IRL. Still, lovely set.
Thank you for including the normie mods. It’s disheartening when a nice DSS kit comes out that only supports 40s.
1/4- Made Pitch to SP, was told they do not have the bandwidth for further community sets.
I am currently undecided on the next step. So, I can see if I can find vendors to work with, which would be my first community run.
Alternatively, I made all the artwork compatible with both SP and GMK standards. So a conversion to GMK CLY is in the cards. I have done a mockup using GMK ABS Stock colors, which I will post below, and see what the reaction is.
Looks great! Not sure I like GMK because I haven’t tried it, but it seems pretty close to Cherry which isn’t bad. I just prefer SA from round 1 in the hobby like a decade ago. I use mostly MT3 now, because SA is either too hard to find or too expensive. GMK could be a good change though! It seems like any commissioned sets I’ve seen IC for the price for SA is asinine. I would for sure buy this kit in GMK still and learn to like it. Though it’s close enough to Cherry that it’s probably good.
GMK is Cherry profile - GMK bought the tooling from Cherry way back when, and their Cyl profile uses it. GMK also makes MTNU, which is similar to a short MT3 (which makes sense since it was created by the same person).
Oh that’s awesome! I’m just returning to the hobby after a decade of only having time for work. Haven’t even had a PC for daily use since about 2015/16. I think we I backed away Gateron was just becoming big, because people made a big deal about me having a Planck with Gat Browns. So I’m way out of the loop.
It’s more along the lines of we are very busy ATM. In my reply, I told them I would wait- part of the reason I am not putting the whole kits up with board renders is that I am testing the waters for a profile shift. The DSS IC was 50+, so it is viable as a set, appropriately promoted.
