A couple decent views of it in the first episode as well!
The color scheme is great, nice catch!
I’m loving the colors on this show!
Inspired me to post this today: Reece Conrad on Instagram: "Have you been watching Severance? Which board do you think gives the best Severance vibes?"
Giving Cyberpunk another go and just noticed the neighborhood ripper doc has a very wide keeb. Who needs space for a mouse when every function has a dedicated key?
is this the hyper 7 v2077 lol
Ugh, even the function keys have row stagger…
“Can’t decide between 60%, 40%, ortho, or full-size macropad? We’ve got you covered!”
How are you liking this show? It has been on my watch list for a while to check out after the regular Narcos, but I haven’t made the plunge yet.
Narcos Mexico is just so good, I love it even more than the first part (Narcos). It’s about Mexican cartels and it’s fascinating.
If you like that type of show, just watch Gomorrah and ZeroZeroZero. It’s also about drug trafficking but the first is about the Camorra in Italy and the second is about the international drug trading between South America and Europe, both today.
I started the game Control last night, and I’m having a blast with it. Think fantastical FBI conspiracies with a dash of SCP Foundation and you’ll be in the ballpark. Lots of retro technology going on - there’s a keeb inspired by an IBM beam-spring model in the opening credits but I missed screen-shotting it; but there are plenty of other archaic input devices in the game itself.
Edit: here’s the intro on YouTube if you want to see the aforementioned keeb:
Some input devices I’ve seen in my first few hours:
A mechanical typewriter:
An electric typewriter:
A (broken) computer terminal missing its primary monitor:
Bonus image that dates me; anybody else remember these things (or maybe live in a place where they’re still in use)?
Oh heck yeah
I haven’t seen them in use in a long time, but those were the best when I was a kid. I used to beg my Dad to let me be the one who bought his cigarettes b/c I loved to pull the knob (twss, yeah).
They also used to use these at the city pool for snacks. There was always a mystery one that you could take a chance on. A few times I would get multiple items!
Paying 35 cents and getting three candy bars… that was like winning the lottery!
I was scrolling through the thread. Wondering when a wild Jurassic Park would show up. So no score for me then. Bit is he really named Dennis Nedry? For real? Dennis Nedry | Jurassic Park Wiki | Fandom
No way. Known this movie since I was a little kid but it never occured to me that his name was that nerdy. ![]()
We are currently watching the old X-Files episodes on an old school format. Does anyone remeber DVDs? I still have one or two. Especially in the early episodes you see the character of Dana Scully writing her reports on different computers and keyboards. And in apparently a different appartment every time.
Don’t have a computer with DVD/Blueray drive to take screen shots, though.
Heck, I used to use those all the time when I started smoking in high school. Was a lot easier to find someplace with a machine and buy a pack instead of getting carded at a store.
Thankfully I stopped smoking years ago…more money for keebs and audio stuff…
Thanks, I also have a lot of DVDs (more than 400) but I still have some DVD players
X-Files, it’s a great show, when I was young I was in love with Dana Scully
Same, 3 years and 3 months !!!
