Keycaps with sandpaper (dry and gritty) texture recommendation

I am trying to find keycaps with a textured surface.
The things that I tried:

  • Stock Evo75 keycaps - smooths, don’t like.

  • Keycreative KAP TOT Keycaps - very smooth, I hate it.

  • CannonKeys by NicePBT - a little rough, but not to the point I like it.

  • Keychron K4 v2 - rougher than CannonKeys by NicePBT, I like it.

  • GMK Clacks Beige - good texture, the roughest ones from this list, I like it a lot (but I have heard that there are more textured keycaps)

  • My Lenovo Old Membrane keyboard also has texture on its keycaps - I like it, but GMK has rougher one.

Please, suggest keycaps with the most dry sandpaper-like texture you have ever tried, the more grain, the better. Thank you.

Try to find some Signature Plastics DSA or DSS.

Thank you for your reply! I am contemplating buying Signature Plastics DSA UnAlice set, but honestly, I prefer standard cherry profile keycaps. Maybe you know anything I can try?

If you’re in the US, I believe PrimeKB still has some DSS Honeywell for $56 once it’s in the cart. It’s similar in shape to DSA but has row scultiping so it’s (a tiny bit) more like Cherry.

Ah I think you may want to pay attention to the material too. Doubleshot ABS usually has texture but it’s relatively soft and shines pretty quickly in my experience. I think PBT if it’s textured out of the mold may be a little more durable… but I think PBT caps usually are pretty smooth, at least from what I’ve seen.
Don’t quote me on any of this though lol

DSS is definitively the keycap profile I tried with the most texture on it.

The one exception I can think of are Signature Plastics SA-P, which have a non-smooth texture to them and are PBT (their regular SA caps are ABS and smooth).
