Keygeek Y2 Switch Review

Hey all,

Did you know that the ‘Y’ in Keygeek Y2 actually stands for “microtexturing”? The second Y, not the first one. Me neither, but then again there was a lot that I didn’t really know about these switches until I sat down and wrote this review for them. Lucky for you, you only have to read it instead of writing one yourself.

As always thank you all for the continued readership and support week in and out. While I will be taking a week off as described at the top end of this article, you have no idea how excited I am to get set up and rolling in a newer, bigger writing office that I hopefully will keep at least marginally more organized this time around…

Cheers,
Goat

Awesome work as always bud! I jumped on the Y2 train as soon as I seen them on Unikeys & had a weird feeling the waffle tip would work (no reason to believe so, just gut feeling). To my surprise it worked very well. I was surprised to find out the top housings have micro texturing too, it got totally past me as well when I was inspecting a few after I got them. Definitely opens up a new world of possible switch feels for sure! I’m with you on waiting for someone to go a little deeper with the concept. For now though I am very happy with the Y2s, was running them in my F1 for a little bit on alum & they really hit nicely in that setup. Easily the deepest long pole I’ve heard. Although Keygeek has come out with some switches that may be deeper sounding long poles already. The Butterflies are supposed to be pretty deep & the Blue Cheese V2s are said to sound deeper too. I got a batch of the later on the way, but have yet to get any Butterflies.
