Looking for advice to move away from Cherry MX Blues to tactile switches

I did try the Pastel Mint, and sadly was not as much to my liking. Haven’t heard of the Thistle though. Thanks for the suggestion.

Sure. The materials and stem design are different, though the spring appears the same. They describe the Mint in a way that makes it sound like the more “assertive” switch, but in-hand I found the Thistle to be more-so.

So far I’m leaning towards the Anubis switches. Nowhere as silent as the whispers, but man they do feel nice.

Well, there’s definitely a pattern here.

You prefer medium-heavy and heavy tactiles, often with a large bump, with the bump beginning near or at the top, and sharper rather than rounder tactility.

I’d say you’re still a clicky typist at heart

The Durock Anubis actually does have an impressive sound to it, so thanks for pointing that out.

[To be fair, Pandas and U4T are not necessarily sharp tactiles.]

You’re definitely right about that! I took a look at some of the force graphs and realized they were all about the same shape :joy:.

I definitely like clickies and some day will circle back to them, but these bunch feel like a happy medium without the added noise.

I’ll keep toying with the five that I’ve narrowed down, but the Anubis is likely going to win it out. The fact that they sound great is a bonus, as my main priority is the feel. Pre-lubed is another plus.

It’s almost as if you’ve defined a new category - crisp tactiles that have their own sound. [Huano Banana are like a light version of this].

From the on-line videos, I get the sense that the Anubis would one-day pair nicely with quality high-profiles like HSA, or PBT MT3 if you need even-deeper sound.

So… looks like I’m pretty dead set on the Anubis switches. Looks like the only real option is getting several 36 packs from CannonKeys, or is there an alternative place or a sale I should consider? Looking around it seems to be the only real option that actually has stock.

I believe Anubis switches are exclusive to CannonKeys as they worked to design them. You might try the second hand market through reddit.com/r/mechmarket for a cheaper price, but otherwise I would just wait for a sale from CannonKeys.

My Anubis switches have arrived and I’ve been trying them out for a few days. My first immediate impression is that I don’t like them . Having gone directly from clickies to this, the adjustment has been more significant than I anticipated.

That said, I feel they are growing on me. I have 0 problem playing games, which actually feel quite good. Typing too, as I have done several typing tests and have had fairly consistent accuracy. I’ve even been playing a typing game, which has been helping me adjust.

Overall, I think I have made the right choice, though I can’t help but wonder what some of the alternatives in my list would feel like. I’ve definitely gone with the right feel in terms of actuation pressure, as these feel neither too heavy nor too light. The bump is pretty bang on as well, as I don’t find myself accidentally pressing keys before I intend to do so. I think it’s really just the sharp feel that clickies provide that I’m missing, but I really can’t complain besides that. I expect that over time these will become quite comfortable.

Thanks a ton to all those who’ve helped out, especially @HungerMechanic
