MTNU Box Art

As part of designing MTNU Selectresque, I’m eventually going to need to create the box art as well. I’m getting a head start on that, even though the GB is still several months away. I’ve already decided it’s going to be IBM-ish, though also deliberately different from what Matt3o did for MT3 3277. I have some blurry old photos of 70’s Selectric boxes to go by.

I’ve seen the packaging for MTNU Susu and Beige, but I’m wondering if anyone can show me artwork other sets have used? Especially more recent ones, like Dolch and R&D 1973. I want to try to make sure I’m working up to the standards of the other MTNU releases so far.

Thanks!

Oh wow, that would be an insane GMK Bandolier art/picture.

That’s awesome, thank you! That gives me some idea of how the sides look when they’re not all flattened like they are in the template.

Oh wow, I wish that was public domain so I could incorporate that somehow!

The IBM System 360 used Selectrics for terminal keyboards, and had some glorious reds and yellows in their cabinets.

I never really associated IBM with colors other than blue! Thanks!

I can’t remember if the box from my NOS Pingmaster I got way back had IBM branding (I remember any print on it being IBM blue though). I’ll dig it out later & get some pics for you!

I wonder if the old Selectric manuals are considered public domain? Guessing not. I wonder how a grayscale tone box/images of the Selectric but only the keycaps are highlighted in the Selectric blue you use for them?

Something like this effect:

(pretty sure it’s not close to PD – Google Images search leads back to Reddit where one poster claims the original came off IBM’s own website)
