Hey all,

Rarely, I’ll encounter a scenario where I simply can’t do a full length review for a switch. Imagine I had only one single switch that had the ability to be toggled between linear and clicky mode on the fly - I couldn’t review the performance of just one of those. Or imagine I had a tactile switch that I literally could not explain the mechanism of how it works - that wouldn’t make for a good performance section either. But while I couldn’t do full length reviews of these two very unique switches, I definitely could write Odd Switch Shorts on the Kailh Mix-7 and the Co-Gain Magnetic Paragraph Axis switches…

Never read a short on ThereminGoat.com before? Odd Switch Shorts V and VI are both laid back, shorter length reads with a lot of photo breaks to talk about switches that definitely need some documentation written for them but couldn’t make the cut for a full length review!

How interesting! I love seeing that there’s still some innovation going on in the MX space. I like that Kailh moved the actuation nub to the center; having it offset caused older BOX designs to have a slight resting twist by default, which this update would have avoided.

I agree that the innovation is interesting and welcomed. However, you have to pause a moment when you realize that n today’s hotswap dominated market, it would be almost as easy to simply swap out the switches. I suppose the price point would be the deciding factor here

Oh definitely - the type-switching mechanisms are the headline feature I suppose, but I was kind of glossing over that in favor of the centered pusher, which I’d love to see on all Box switches.

I do love the idea of just pushing the clickbar out of the way - it makes me wonder if there might be more simple or straightforward ways to toggle that - but yeah it’s just as easy to swap switches.

I’m mostly into the idea of a dust and water resistant switch that also sits straight, ha
