Old cherry g80 switch desoldering

Hi, I am planning on desoldering the old cherry blue switches from this g80 and soldering new switches (not necessarily cherry) but I don’t really know why there are four soldered spots. Diods ? If so is it safe to remove them ? Thanks.

Saw your post on Reddit too. Someone linked the thread on here to a similar board.

They are probably jumper wires, but could be diodes. You do need to desolder them and reinstall them to use the PCB. If you’re just looking to harvest the switches you can toss them.

If they’re just bare metal wire, they are jumpers (like a thick staple,)

If they have a little ceramic or glass looking piece in the middle they are diodes.

I’m pretty sure those are diodes and they would be safe to remove, but you have to be careful.

Old cherry switches had integrated diodes, so you’ll need to desolder them to remove the switch as well

Pictured here, you can see the diode in the south LED slot
