I’ve said it on other platforms, but god damn. This is such a winning combo.
Here was my topre collection, slimmed down a bit but nice boards!
HHKB Snow
HHKB Pro 1
Noxary Evija HG
Realforce 84u (89u body + 86u internals)
Noxary XRF
That’s one way to make an entrance! Welcome!
man, that XRF…
Thank you! Some very nice boards on this forum as well
And yes, the blue XRF is one of my absolute favorites. Just a nice classy color and look.
I built the left half of a Keebio FoldKB to replace my Nyquist “gaming pad”.
- NK Olivia Silks (filmed, lubed the springs)
- C3 V2 Olivia stabs (left over from another build)
- SP DSA WoB with a GMK OG Spacekeys spacebar.
I love an ortholinear layout for gaming, but always hated the 1u mods on my Nyquist. Here I get the best of both worlds.
Love all those retro look keycaps!
That’s perfect, you’ve even got ‘I’ and other useful letters on the left. I also love that you color matched the stabs, the ’case’ being low-profile. Do you find the need for any layers for any additional functionality?
Thanks!
Currently the keys on the side are set up for Red Dead II which I’m finally getting around to playing on PC. I could remap the actions to function keys to keep a more consistent look of the column, but RD2 has a lot of key binds and it’s a little easier to use the OG keys (for the old brain anyway). Plus, using DSA I have the freedom to place caps as needed without worrying about the profile.
I typically try to keep my game pad layers as vanilla as possible (no SpaceFn, ModTap, or anything fancy) to keep the input lag down and mistypes to a minimum. The Nyquist didn’t really have keys place comfortably enough for me to access layers, but I may try an additional layer with this build for functions keys and the like.
What board is that?
That would be a Trivium. Quite rare.
I almost went for this, and now regret not doing so.
Very cool, this is the first time I’ve ever seen one and it doesn’t disappoint.
That sure is a roomy recessed USB-C port, designed for your chunkiest cables.
So clean! Looks great!
Are you primarily a left-shift user? I built this board, and keep finding myself hitting the up arrow when reaching for the right shift. Need to use it more to be more ambidextrous on my shift key usage.
Unpleasant buying experience aside, my LeSmoking R2 build is complete-ish.
Using the stock plate for now since they forgot the gasket foam for the extra plate that took almost a month to arrive despite the $100 (thanks 4PX).
PBTFans Purpolch Keycaps
Lubed Gateron Oil King
Lubed TX stabs
It looks fantastic, but woof, I would expect their QC to be exceptional for what they’re charging.
