Post Your Keyboards!

I love chunky keyboards like this. We need more of these type of runs.

fwiw, JTK is allegedly finishing up on a double-shot set meant to replicate this keycap set. (ran through NK_ in the US):

Hi,

Thinking of getting into the Angel but a bit scared because I saw some sound tests of the Prophet in which some mods, especially the spacebar sounded very hollow to me… Did you have any trouble with the sound in your Prophet? I know it’s hard but could you tell me how you think it compares in sound with gasket and top mounts?

Thanks so much!

Well, I don’t think it’s actually hollow but rather thacky. I like the sound it has a nice ring to it whenever I press it. And compared to other mounting methods, pin mount has more flex so there’s definitely more sound because of the increased movement. I personally think this is where the fun comes from.

Nice, yeah, it’s so difficult to get those subtleties in videos and sound tests. When you say thacky, is that more of a deep sound or more like a clack? Sorry for the weird descriptions, trying to understand the chances I like it too

Deep and it has a good ring. It’s not a quelled sound.

That definitely sounds like something I will enjoy, thanks!
Last question, have you tried different plates or half plates with the Prophet?
There is a lot of plate options with the Angel and I’m a bit lost, I had the idea that POM is supposed to be “clackier” and louder than PP but not even sure of that…

Nah, just polypropylene. I also joined the Angel GB and went with pp as well. As, pom is somewhat accessible through a third-party plate GB but pp is really rare. Besides, I think polypropylene is my kinda thing ya know?

Sorry for the poor lighting but this is my main board in its natural habitat.
My bird has been terrorizing my keeb lately, hence some scuffs here and there.

This is the Prime E I have on the desk today. PC Prime Elise Case, V2.1 Prime E PCB with underglow, Durock V2 stabs, Banana Split switches lubed with 205g0 deskey films and Cream stems, and GMK Coral with a Lividity Moses and Latrialum Christmas sale cap! I love this board so much.

Well it’s pretty clumsy so far. Part of it is actually due to me being clumsy with linears. I put 68g progressives in tangies. I thought that would be enough but I need more. I also keep hitting ENTER instead of the apostrophe. The B and FN need to change places. I guess I’m a Right B’er. Also, some of the bottom row scratches so I may have to shave the case down some. I think after putting some heavier switches in and making a few mods, it will be better.

Thinking about putting some weight under the case as well, maybe some adhesive tire balance weights or something.

Also, I think this little keeb deserves a custom wrist rest so keep an eye out for that project!
