Steelseries Omnipoint 2.0 Review

I’ll give y’all my personal opinion on the omnipoint 2.0 switches from Steelseries:

Specs:
Linear
4 mm of total travel
Adjustable actuation point (0.1mm, 3.8mm)
45 grams of actuation force
A 100 million keypresses is the lifespan of these switches
Mounting type:

Durability:
I have used them for about 10 months now, I even tried vaseline lubing them
I have found that some of the switches (Just a few, and minor “scratchiness” compare the “scratchiness” to a Gateron Red) Have begun getting scratchy. One of them just a few days after I got it! So I mean, the build quality is not absolutely perfect as expected, though they are from a big brand; Steelseries makes gaming keyboards, so I kind of need to expect that. Anyways, if I forget that I’m actually really satisfied with the build quality and durability! The switches are sooooo smooth and I constantly want to press them lol

Feel:
As said they are REALLY smooth, although the total travel is 4 mm (which is a bit too much for me) I don’t mind it on these, I absolutely don’t know why
They are really light too, sometimes, I can find myself just messing up so much just because they are so smooth and light. So that’s a con :frowning: Anyways, since they are so light I can type really fast and that helps A LOT because I’m a programmer. And when I got it I was really into Fortnite so it made me so much faster. I don’t need to say anything else about the feel: They are just silky smooth and really light, so if you like that; These switches might be the one for you.
I really can’t compare these switches to any I’ve tried so far, but they are basically Gateron Reds just 10x smoothers, lighter, and overall just better in every way.

Sound:
I would said that these are medium loud (more on the low side), they (as expected) don’t give out the best sound but not the worst either. I would personally compare the sound to a more mellow and smooth Gateron Red switch.

Rating:
I would overall give these switches a rating of: 8.65/10, they are really good but still things to improve.

Thanks for reading! What do y’all think about these switches?
