Blast from the past, I love these things and stash them in my workbench and desk for those tinkering times!
If you are referring to the rubber insulation (usually green or red) the standard tech flex or mdpc-x used for custom USB cables does not easily fit over it.
Even if it did it would make the puller very thick especially with the heat shrink that @skepp mentioned. Could make it tight when trying to remove some switches.
I think you misunderstood my question. I’m saying, instead of stripping the original insulation, just sleeve over it. Btw, it seems like MDPC Sata cable size would work on this, am I right?
