Tallest/most angled board?

For my next project i want to do something of a novelty and combine SA-P caps with a high angle and/or high base height.

Anyone have recomendations? Im also thinking i’ll try out some tacticle switches on this.

Personally I prefer lower angles with SA for comfort reasons but I guess things like a daji ocho cuatro 2 xl, lz cls, geon glare, duck orion, other korean custom/inspired boards would likely be good examples of high angle (around 11-10deg) boards without risers. I think the cyberboard or biso rs has a pretty high angle too, for some reason blanking on others lol

For high front angle/height boards in general some of the m0110 recreations fit that bill well for being pretty tall (nothing like the original though lol), although some dial back the angle more (I think the vortex one still has a high-ish angle). I love the look of the saturn60 with sa and I’d say that’s higher height but not super steep angle either.

There’s an old YMDK aluminum enclosure for Filco (and other Costar generic) TKLs that’s pretty darn tall.

It’s called the F87 and should fit any wired Filco TKL and some random stuff like old Cooler Masters, a Turtle Beach keeb called the Impact 500, and a few others. It turns the donor board into a top-mount, and has a tall base height. I seem to remember the stock feet making for a steep angle, but it’s possible to put taller feet in their place if desired.

I don’t necessarily recommend this as a premium option, but maybe as a quirky / fun project.

The AKB OGR is quite a steep angle, but it could be hard to get ahold of. Beautiful keyboard. 10°.

You might instead look at a CK Brutal v1 board. They’re easy to get, still nice, have a rather high front height, have a steep-ish angle (7.5°?), and are a solid aluminum plinth. The shape might achieve what you want.

The Glare 65 and Glare TKL from GeonWorks each had an 11° angle. I’ve seen a few of the 65s floating around r/mechmarket.

If you want to go full meme/novelty (If you can find one second hand) the Wristbreaker TKL has a 14 degree typing angle lol.

Looks like I have to wait for any of the boards people have mentioned to surface on the second hand market, but that is a solid contender for top pick.

Since its a fairly old board I would doubt there are any extras he has, but you could always message @bisoromi who is the creator or DM him on instagram.

Not that it’s a first choice, but I actually have one of those F87s in black and a compatible donor board available if you don’t find anything else in your preferred timeline.

Appreciate it, I’m not in any rush on this project though.

For the board I am creating there is no reason I couldn’t make a ridiculous set of feet. Could be a combo of height and angle.

Ohh, is that the Aluminum TKL with exposed gaskets? How is it coming along?

Yup! Have changes made that I need to remake some stuff on but haven’t had a lot of time at work to get around to it.

The Brutal boards are in-stock, but they are not very steep. They’re rather high, though.

Yeah I keep eyeballing the Rekt1800

Definitely curious about what options are out there for this, as I also seem to enjoy ridiculously high typing angles.

In lieu of a case that has enough angle, I’ve resorted to using large self-adhesive rubber feet to raise the back of the board. Just be careful that the front part still rests on the existing feet or add others to keep from scratching the case.

“Laptop” adhesive feet might be good for this; basically an even larger version of the same thing
