I received the plate not long ago, so it was time to build this keyboard
So I started assembling it
You may have found something special in those EC parts.
Yes, those are Clever Dynacaps housings with OEM sliders.
I didn’t want to buy another Realforce to take some parts so I made a mix of Dynacap housings and sliders bought at Unreal Keyboards.
And oh boy I didn’t expect that it would trigger so much problems ![]()
The OEM slider and housing tolerances, sometimes the slider is a perfect fit, sometimes the slider is stuck and you have an ultra scratchy switch; no choice than use a metal file and gently eat plastic on the slider rails.
So for each slide/housing test the fit, file if needed, test again … rinse and repeat until the fit is right
And I had also the same issue for the 2U sliders as well ![]()
This took me a whole afternoon, but after all this and lubing all sliders were ok and smooth during actuation (witch at first I did not expect, at least a good surprise).
And to top this I found a last minute small issue in the PCB forcing me to use the soldering iron again…
But at last everything was assembled tonight and ready for keycaps installation.
And here it is finished with @andreas URSA classic keycaps and their blue accents, gorgeous!
And the blue daughterboard coved that you can see through the USB opening ![]()
Typed this message on my brand new Concordia keyboard, yay!
