LINKY87 TKL
I am utterly floored by the quality of this TKL, which retails for about $40 USD + shipping, or 68-88 CAD.
The keycaps, switches, and stabilizers are on par with, or superior to a 2018 Leopold FC900R PD, while costing much less.
The keycaps are PBT doubleshot, the legends aren’t raised above the keycap blanks. These would have been considered ‘God-tier’ a few years ago. Switches are creamy linears, requiring no work. Stabilizers are impeccable.
While I don’t know about the quality of the electronics, and the longevity of the board, and its plastic case may feel cheaper than a Leopold, there is no way you would have able to purchase this level of quality for under $120 USD a few years ago.
It is basically a factory, stock, creamy keyboard. I don’t build or buy for sound, but for those who do, it is ready-made. I suppose keyboards like this one will force custom builders to up their game, to have a more ‘custom’ and ‘unique’ sound.
Here is a quick sound test:
Please keep in mind that my mic makes the keyboards thinner sounding, more higher-pitched, peaky and and crackly than they are in real-life. The real keyboards sound deeper and fuller.
