WHOA, I haven’t seen the PCB for the Lil’ Bae but man is that thing swiss cheesed.
Yep. Pretty complicated design for a macro pad but it gives you a few different options for layouts.
What have we got? ISO+1, ANSI+1, BAE, stabs for all, and potentially an indicator LED if you do ISO? Am I missing anything?
I think that’s correct. And hotswap sockets ![]()
ISO+1 can do encoder or MX switch. (I may have bought extra PCBs to try it.)
Switches I don’t have in my collection. A parcel from a friend in another city.

Got a lucky65v2 because it was a steal, and because it was unique. Someone made 2 into 1, so it has a black bottom case and red top case. Perfect for an EVA or Zaku build. Threw in some Valkyrie Cranberry switches and a Capturer WoB set i had around, but i might buy one of those EVA / Zaku keycaps floating around. There’s one Zaku set with some round design with transparent pieces that looks unique, maybe that one. Also maybe a copper plate.
The board itself is pretty meh, though. Flex cuts on the PCB and the plate, but there’s zero flex or bounce to it because of how it’s built.
I got my completely superfluous SP grab bag a little bit ago, and it should supply a good number of projects. I got enough blank DCS to make a full size board that wouldn’t be too visually jarring, and also to fill in the gaps on a DCS unicorn barf TKL. Also of note, plenty of other blanks, some POS caps that people like to throw around as the solution to any number of layout problems in the ergo space but are hard to source from anyone but SP, and a 10u DCS spacebar.
I also got a fair number of History of Violets novelties, enough to see that it is a really nice colorway and the novelties are well designed. Finally – good lord! – SP’s PBT SA are absolute units of keycaps. Somebody was selling their personal set of kit-assemble dye sub on eBay, and I sort of regret not bidding now.
On a completely different note, I also went budget Kailh switch shopping on Amazon. I got 90 more Box Navy because they’re the one switch I know will eventually get used on something, no matter what. I also got 108 of their “classic” non-box Black, and while I don’t hear high pitched sounds well enough for it to matter once they’re mounted to pretty much anything, the spring ping up close makes me think these would undoubtedly drive many of you nuts. For me, they feel heavier than Gateron’s typical black-switch springs, and that’s what I like. Finally, I got 90 of the 55g actuation “Box Ice Cream Dark Chocolate” linears, which seem like they’re at about 62g bottom-out (the more relevant number for me) based on the tiny little force curve diagram and the general feel. That’s a bit light for my taste, but they’re pre-lubed, have basically zero spring-ping, and they were under ten bucks (now around 12-ish, which is still cheaper than buying 72 of them on the exact same listing… gotta love DGAF “Fulfilled by Amazon” fronts businesses).
All of this also gave me a dark night of the keyboarding soul (LOL). I just spent a fair amount of time shortening the stems on a boardful of Epomaker long-pole linears because the bottom-out made me want to dig up a pack-in Dell membrane board solely for the improved typing experience. They bottom out on the rails now, and are definitely better. Then I realize that my absolute favorite MX switches, bar none, the Box Navies, are also long pole, or at least short travel. The 4mm classic switches feel fine, and the Box linears are noticeably short-travel, but I didn’t have the same visceral dislike.
Now I want to know what it is that makes for the variation. I can only assume that even I subsconsciously start to let up on a clicky switch once I get the feedback, so the bottom out matters less, but otherwise I’m working on hunches. The Box Linears are all POM, so maybe that helped some? Maybe Epomaker just sources garbage switches regardless of specs? I’m not normally this picky. Hmmmm…
Nice find! You could pair that with a beige NCR-80! I used to have one with Ergo Clears, but it was refitted with Blueberry Chiffon.
I wasn’t quite expecting a John of the Cross reference when I opened Keebtalk this morning ^^.
Well, what is life without a bit of literary malpractice verging on mild blasphemy? And indeed, can we ever truly know “end game?” Having fought with long pole and realizing I knew nothing was a bit of a puzzler, though.
Not having been raised Catholic, I actually came across the poem via this song, and it remains a lovely, soothing little tune for me, despite my not listening to Enya-adjacent new-age Canadian folk every day.
I wasn’t raised Catholic either, but I have a dad who loves him a good Spanish mystic. I sent him the song you linked
He’ll never believe me when I tell him I found it on one of my keyboard forums.
Got my spacebar & accent kit in for DCX Hyperfuse! Also dorp has the most overkill packaging for their child kits!? Not sure what it is about keycap packing but there seems to be no middle ground. Either total overkill or completely underwhelming packaging with keycaps I swear!
A replacement arrived, a new one.
Delivery in 5 days. AliExpress standard.
It works.)
I can finally test the MX switches on the Agar keyboard.
KKB Dolch Cadet
(Sorry about the autumnal lighting)
Base kit. Tripleshot kits are also available.
Texture is similar to GMK, a little less gritty / porous. So they are more smooth, rather than eggshell.
Hard to get a good photo today. Anyway, they arrived relatively quickly, very little packaging materials. The trays easily snap together, but they are not secured.
I had so much fun with this crazy build: ERA75 Cyberpunk edition, sent to me by Womier. Hotswap encoder, VIA, DIY stickers.
