Got this delivered last night. It’s smaller than I expected and a little underwhelming, I don’t know why. PEI is an interesting material, and the fidget factor is a win.
The packaging for it is stellar.

It’s shiny surface finish? Man I’m glad I didn’t get one now. In my memory I expected a textured finish not glossy.
Yeah but TBH I like the gloss. There’s some machining marks on the inside, but for the most part it’s okay. I was expecting a more polished fit and finish but I’m not distraught lol. It’s a fun little toy and enjoyable to (dis)assemble. Part of me wishes I got alu but I’m a sucker for PC and these transparent/translucent things.
Today i got a Kataaa Model VI. The one that has “HMX” switches that are actually LCET and not HMX, just like HMX Platinum and some HMX SPM switches that are atually LCET. No idea what HMX’s deal is. There have been theories that they are not an actual Manufacturer and just a middleman for a long time, but this is just weird. Comparison below. One LCET, one ‘HMX’.

Just got mail from Italy, insanely fast delivery from Khor. Got a clear USB cable at Mechanicon and ordered a USB C tail for on the go and a fitting TRRS cable for the Charybdis now after.

Got the rest of the Keysnap lineup in today! Now I got 2 packs of each type of PCBsnap & Keysnap. Really loving these things so figured I better stock up now instead of regretting not getting them later LOL!

A lot of mostly obscure goodies today.
- Stabilizers that randomly popped up on Xianyu from one seller. They had vague descriptions but were quite cheap. Turns out they are either copies, or under-the-table sales of TypePlus stabilizers. I don’t have a set on hand to compare directly, but they are the first and only other set of Stabs i’ve seen out there with those sideways wires.
- Top housings from an LCET-affiliated store with ‘Invyr’ branding. The molds are identical to my old, very early batch of Feker Pandas. Make of that what you will.
- Gateron Merlot. One of the very early Gateron customs.I think they should be PC top, POM stem, PA bottom and just Gateron Yellow recolors, if i remember right. A little wobbly by todays standards but pretty smooth for being old and unlubed.
- Huano Taro Latte. I don’t know materials from the top of my head, but i’d guess full POK, might update once i find out. They are pretty good. Smooth, very minimal wobble and a bright sound thanks to the pretty thin lube on those.
- Huano Ink T. Full POK with what they say should be 3.8mm travel but feels more like 4mm travel, which i like. Very stable and smooth and a pretty different sound compared to the Taro Latte, more muted and even a little deeper in tone. Both linears.
- Epomaker Jade (?) Some type of long pole Linear BSUN, that’s all i know. They are smooth with a medium high pitched sound and a little wobble. No idea if that Name is accurate or any specs beyond that. Can’t really find anything.
- Jixian Plum. PA housing POM stem as far as i can tell. I assume that they are from the “Attack Shark” brand because of the small shark-fin looking logo on the top housing, might look into that to find more info. A little on the wobbly side, like some older Jixians, but otherwise just a long pole linear. I prefer the absolute purples any day.

Well not in the mail, but not far from my mailbox, it happened again!? Some a**hole ditched a kitten on my road… Everyone say hello to Jack! Coming home from work yesterday the car in front of me hit a hard swerve so I slowed down to see what they avoided & there was little Jack all soaking wet & shaking like a leaf (it was raining & cold) hiding behind a log on the side of the road. I thought he would run from me, but he came right up to me like “please get me out of here bro!” So of course I brought him home, cleaned him up & fed him. He is a super personable little guy too, just wants to be next to someone at all times! Can’t see a single reason someone wouldn’t want him. Also big bonus Tiger (my other cat) & my dogs we’re super accepting of him. My female american bully Zoey thinks it her puppy LOL! He’s all curled up next to me sleeping right now.
I just don’t get how someone could be so heartless to abandon such a young kitten to fend for itself, right at the start of cold season to boot! Makes my blood boil even thinking about it. Thankfully I found him though & he’s now being well taken care of. Never thought I’d be a cat person, but two strays later & here I am LOL! Honestly glad I found Tiger & Jack though, my heart breaks when I see any dead animals let alone a cat or dog someone couldn’t take care of properly. Well I guess now let the fight for who gets to lay on my keyboards begin!

Been reading a ton of horror over the past year. Nothing has been as scary as the mundane callousness humans manage to exhibit daily. Big props to you for helping out another little one from what would have likely been a pretty miserable way to go out.
