What is on your desk today?

I’m going insane all cooped up in my apartment but at least I set up a proper workspace with my keyboard :upside_down_face:

:smiley:Your southpaw fullsized turned out so well! How have you been liking it? I built mine on Sunday and it’s pretty fun

It’s working pretty well. The left hand numpad is harder to get used to that I had hoped, but I have too many artisans matching the colorway to have a less than a fullsize. Which may not be a good thing if I think about my wallet, but ehhhhhh.

I also still haven’t fixed the enter stabilizer but it hasn’t been bothering me at all. I meant to buy enough creams to just replace the switches but then I ordered 70 of them… And then missed the H1 switch sale as well. So meh, living with the inconsistency for now.

Sad I missed the build stream of that, I think I went to sleep early Sunday to try to reset my circadian rhythm. I’ll check out the VOD

Are you still digging the Alice layout and did you jump on the Rukia – if so what options? After a few months with my acrylic Alice from Switch Couture, I’ve really grown to love the layout and felt pretty much obligated to buy a Rukia, lol. Cost aside, I decided to stick with the polycarb plate as I’m really digging the melow, deep sound produced by plastic plates (absolutely love the acrylic plate for that).

Yes & yes! I went with all PC & the CF plate on the Rukia. I do plan on getting a second PCB for mine, so I can build up the CF & PC plate. I agree with what you said, plastic plates do have a very nice muted sound to them. I want to try the CF plate though cause it’s supposed to be made in a way that lets it have some decent flex.

Nice! I thought about adding CF plate and extra PCB once the PCB’s come in. I’m not a huge fan of the clacky sound of CF, but as you said, the new material structure sounds interesting. Looks like we’re Rukia bro’s now.

Three Amigos + Rukia = Three Rumigos? It’s a working title for the gang – I’m open to suggestions. Maybe just Rumigos since others in this thread already own the board.

was this from the US GB that went on in Nov of '19?

Giving the green Fjell some love today on a sunny San Diego afternoon.

Finally got around to building up my new PCB + PC plate for my E6.5 last night. Went with Alpacas lubed with 205g00 (105 on the springs) & Durock clear stabs lubed with 205g0. Loving the new setup so far, feels much better than it did with Holy Pandas!

Quick-and-dirty photo of a new build for a friend;

  • De-badged / generic Rakk Lam Ang Pro hotswap bluetooth RGB barebones platform (thanks to Keeb i.o. for making that available in the US!)
  • Added foam in the case (comes with retail version but not this generic one)
  • Unholy Silent Skies (Halos stem-swapped with Outemu Silent Sky tactiles; springs bag-lubed with teflon bike lube - for a cyclist)
  • Clipped, lubed, and bandaid modded GMK / Cherry stabs, apparently pre re-tool
  • Ducky’s pudding caps; a bit thicker and with better legends than the standard ones

This thing is quiet. I put this together for a friend of mine after he mentioned his stream viewers complaining about his keyboard - currently a generic with out-board blue switches. I think his viewers will appreciate the change.

I’d used the Outemu Silent Sky tactile stems before, but I’d had them paired with light springs, and I did not like that combination. With the 60g Halo springs, however, they feel satisfying and snappy while still being much more quiet than the average “silent” switch. If silence is your priority, I cannot recommend Outemu’s silent offerings enough.
