Wow, very impressive!

Using the Geist Totem and nearly back to my old typing speed.

Back on the KA2. So badly want to break the 160 mark.

Another personal best that I managed to post on my KA2. Inching ever closer to that 160 goal speed…

Edit:

Just followed up 5 minutes later with another new personal best, this time on my Geist Totem with Choc blacks

Edit:

Well, my goal was 160. I just managed to hit 170 on one of my KA2s with silent reds. This will likely be a personal best for quite some time.

How. Just how.

Let’s see your accuracy

Got this on my Geist Klor with stock MX Oranges. Pretty solid.

Lol, everyone here has super high typing speeds. While there is me with 30wpm🤣

Pretty reliably able to get into the 160’s now. This time was with my new custom board in Klor footprint. I’m going to need to come up with a proper name for this thing.

Once again on my KA2 with silent reds.

Since the smallest I’ve gone is 60% I’ve always been curious how much punctuation/special chars/numbers affect typing speed on smaller boards, which require rapid layer toggling.

Do you happen to have any metrics when those Monkeytype settings are enabled?

It would definitely slow down the score because I have home row mods, which would require holding a key + layer to get a symbol.

In day to day typing though, it never bothers me as it just becomes muscle memory. I type symbols all day as a dev too and find I actually started to prefer the smaller boards even for symbols because of less reaching. And, again, after a bit you stop having to think about layers and muscle memory takes over entirely.

Hot damn I usually feel good about breaking 140wpm. And I can only go for short spurts like 25 words. 167 with 100% for 30seconds is … like a robot :joy: that’s insane.
(Just saw you’re doing that on a tiny ergo too lol incredible)

Just put some Vertex V One switches in my Derivative build. I thought the full travel compared to the HMX switches that were in there would slow me down but I guess not. These switches sound nice and deep too.
