Did Current Keyboards have any theories on why they didn’t meet the MOQ? My guess would be that the $585 price for the GB is definitely pricey at a moment when there are a number of really solid 65% boards being offered/delivered in the $200-400 range. Kind of a shame because the case on Dolores looked amazing.

Here’s a snippet of the email I got. He seems like a decent and stand up dude.
With a heavy heart, we are going to cancel and fully refund the Dolores GB. Currently, sales are going well and we are on pace to sell the MOQ of ~100 units. While I can get this done, the cost of the parts, Cerakote™ QC difficulty, and risk in producing the complicated geometry make it riskier at these lower-end volumes. If anything goes majorly wrong, even at $585, we may be coming out of pocket to get the GB done. For these reasons and the general instability of the manufacturing and shipping this year, we’ve decided to cancel and refund with no plans to restart.
If you have preordered a Dolores you will receive a “canceled order” email Monday and a full refund for the GB and shipping. It will take at least a few days for Stripe to post to your bank account. Please let me know if it hasn’t by February 5th. I apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused. We want to call it early to avoid tying up your money for too long.
Current as a whole will continue. We’d like to produce much smaller numbers of far more unique boards. My theory with Dolores and Hatchet was that very unique designs and customization might sustain the higher manufacturing costs. Unfortunately, it isn’t at a volume to build a stable business. For future boards, we would like to sell maybe dozens of units just to cover our own costs of making these new designs. Giving the Discord and this email list the first chance to buy. This started out as purely a fun hobby, and we’d like to go back there.
If your heart was truly set on a Dolores. I may be running a few commission boards. Please reach out if you have an interest. They will be quite expensive (think $1800+). Will only be available with soldered PCBs.

The NCR80 - although there were two runs this flew under my radar.
I know they are available on sites like Aliexpress but unless I’m mistaken it’s only for the Gray variant - I want the beige.

GMK First Love (Giant sucker for purple, I am). Confirmed no re-runs. This thing is ridiculously hard to find, and I don’t have the luxury to stare at r/mechmarket all day; everyday to snag one.
I know of only one example that refuses to sell, and that’s only because GMK dropped the ball on that person’s base set and it’s missing 2 keys (complete dealbreaker for me). He has all the kits though.
I’m over it, mostly. But that doesn’t mean I don’t wistfully think of the what-ifs every now and then. Sounds weird, but I just really like purple that much.

Although I have never joined a GB before, I really would have wanted to jump on some navy keycaps. Navy is a favorite color of mine, and really loved and still love the aesthetics of Deep Navy (the set). I have no intentions of buying GMK any time soon, but hey, one can dream.

If only Ducky’s sets supported more layouts… they have a set with some nice dark navy mods called Horizon - only fits normie layouts tho:

Well, I jumped on the opportunity to buy mine when it came up the other day. GMK Phantom in my hands - sealed, even!

Wow that purple is deep. Pretty much eggplant, and pretty much exactly what I expected. It looks amazing.
The legends & accents are a butter-yellow. Pretty golden-looking on top of that purple but decidedly not yellow-gold on its own; not even a hint of orange in there.
I’m not sure exactly what I was expecting with the legend / accent color, but I will say it looks remarkably close to what I remember of the renders when under neutral white light. Most in my home are decidedly warm which amps-up the perceived butter-factor a bit, and my phone’s camera is wholly incapable of capturing either color, much less both at once.

Honestly - I’m thinking this is going to end with a custom painted case with just the right shade of eggplant.
Since I have it out here;

I said I’d never buy another keyset on the aftermarket, but I’m glad I made an exception for this one; I love it.

DSA Drifter for sure. When I was first getting into keebs I saw it a when I went to a meetup. Wasn’t into keebs enough to seek it out. Now I very much regret not trying to find it. I have a big love for pixel art and non-english legends so it was right up my alley.

Yeah, I jumped on Navy when it first came out. It’s beautiful. Is that coming back? The others… meh, but again, it’s subjective.
No, I really doubt that it would come back. Regal was the closest I could get to it, hopefully the IC is successful.
