It’s not 100% clear from pictures on the CK site. How is the daughter board mounted in the Bakeneko version?
Pretty cleverly. DB slides in and attaches to the top of the hole. You screw from underneath. Holes are large enough so that a screwdriver can go through.
Question for all: what macro would you map to that giant safety switch?
edit: oh, I see, the switch serves a purpose to enable a valve and change the sound, but nevertheless, if you had a giant switch like that on your keyboard that could be mapped to any function/macro, what would you use it for?
Can’t really think of a great use. Which is probably why we don’t have big toggle switches on our keyboards to start with, lol. I will say on my Command 65 I use one toggle switch for bluetooth mode and one toggle switch for music mode (has a piezo speaker on it)
A gaming layer in the only thing I could think of, or a sleep button for the computer. ![]()
I don’t use Linux desktop (only remote CLI usually) but it would be cool, I think, if it were possible to use big switch as a SU toggle to get you in and out of superuser mode. Terrible idea from a security standpoint and 99% of cases sudo works better but that was the idea that popped in my head in response to your question.
That’d be awesome, would love this as a feature. Totally insecure but maybe even if it just brought up your password manager opened to the right credential it’d be great.
CAPSLOCK
This hobby is really becoming mainstream and I love it, back then when custom keyboards somehow got into a conversation they were met with confusion, now, while people won’t neccesserily find them interesting, they’ll make sense to them, even 3D printers are taking off too.
Much less so on the old continent Europe, compared to Asia & North-America.
National keyboard layouts in a number of European countries is probably one reason for this situation. Another reason is less availability from EU online shops.
We’ve got the BCPs stocked as well at a better price: Sarokeys BCP Linear Switches · Milktooth
Food has doubled in price it was only a matter of time before keyboards caught up. Lovely board, but my wallet can’t take it right now.
More like T¥₽€-$$$, amirite???

Sheesh!

I could have sworn at some point they took the extra column off of the left side of this board to make it more symmetrical. It’s still a beautiful board but that column seems unnecessary (Meridian does fine w/o it, for example).
Maybe these aren’t new but for the first time ever I received a signature plastics keyset that shipped in something marginally better than a plastic baggie!
Potato quality pic, but this set is fire in person!
I think it’s been that way for about a year now. I really like the idea because it’s limited waste and keeps the caps from getting scratched.
I am probably biased a bit because I have my own storage system and don’t rely on product packaging for storage.
Now… here’s the thing, try taking the damn things out of the package. ![]()

You’ll see… it’s a pain in the ass. Looks easy. Is not.
The blue/green keycaps are very nice! Is that SA-P? The fonts / legends look different.
It’s DSA Petrikeys. Unfortunately Vala supply is the vendor ![]()
