Nice. I don’t know if I would put G20 up there on my favorite profiles to type on, but I can say without a doubt that I type better on it than on XDA. I don’t know why, but it is what it is.
I don’t think they will sell very many with that pricing. $65 for just Alphas, no mods. Basic black on white dye sub. I get why they can do that for SA, no one else does high quality dye sub in high profile (Drop Mt3 high profile dye sub is almost there though).
OH wait… there IS stepped caps and control in a kit! That’s really nice. I always try to put Semiotic on a board only to realize 1/2 way through the process that I don’t have a stepped caps for that set.
I think I’ve seen this here before, but for anyone not already aware, stabs designed to be paired with shorter travel switches are a thing now. They’re calling them “long stem” which makes sense to me; I’d guess they match-up well with Gateron’s own short-travel switches like Ink Yellows, Kangaroos and the Ink Box series.
Some Nylon JWK linears with long-pole P3 stems (Epsilons, Durock POMs, Cobalts), on sale at the moment for 55 cents each. *Note - shipping might be high depending where you live!
I’m not one to preorder switches but I’ll admit, the components of these could make for something really interesting. They’re apparently going to use the same molds as Box Inks: https://dangkeebs.com/products/group-buy-gateron-camping
Amazing to me that they can’t do a quick Google search to see why people might be upset about the content creators they choose for partnership opportunities
The crazy thing about youtube, is that it has 2.6 billion users, so a 10 million channel like that guy is actually a drop in the pool, 99% of the users probably never even heard of this channel.
I assume that the people joining group buys are adults and they’re less likely to be into Fortnite let alone get a Fortnite-youtuber merchandise, interesting choice considering the previous youtuber board didn’t seem to be much of a success (yet they did a second run of it).
It might not just be the dude’s Youtube. It is probably a collection of things. Youtube, Instagram, Twitter, Twitch. All of those avenues would help get the board out there and maybe reach some one that doesn’t normally see the scene stuff. Forgot about TikTok too.
It’s going to bring in new customers for them, I’m sure. Versus the number who are turned off by this move. So from a profit perspective, it likely works out in their favor.
