This seems like a pretty inexpensive versatile desk and storage solution. It has casters and built in power. Thinking about it.
Honestly that’s probably a decent solution that I toyed with the idea of for a little. I also thought about getting a bunch of IKEA ALEX drawer units before just deciding to build my own cabinets.
I really want to have some sort of multilayer custom foam solution inside a large pelican case or something… but… oh well. Maybe one day
Would this be a “replace” or “supplement” situation with regard to a sitting desk? A nice clean toolbox is certainly going to be good as purpose made storage and organization for keyboard- and keycap-sized objects.
Yea TaehaTypes used that same toolbox iirc, you can find how he organized stuff in it in one of his semi-recent vids.
Was also implemented by a user here in this thread earlier. Though as a desk replacement it’d have no legroom which would be tricky even as a standing desk imo.
Looking at it again, it’s likely that I would need some overhang to make it comfortable to work at. With modificiations (extending the overhang 6-12 inches on the wooden work surface), potentially it could work. Depending on the height of the work surface, either as a standing or sitting desk.
