Then your keyboard storage area could give off a warehouse vibe :grinning:

The largest unfortunately cannot fit my IBM 5251. It’s a bit of a keyboard…

It measures 21" x 8" x 4".

I do want to make my own fancy kinda custom display for it. I think it deserves it.

She deserves to be displayed on a desk 24/7.

Okay so the straps look nice and they do give me a perfect spot to hang tags.

But look at this photo and see if you spot a problem.

THE STRAPS ARE HOOK AND LOOP. so yeah, they stick the boards together if they touch on the shelf. Whoopsie

Gonna need to rethink it

Maybe some strips of felt for all the velcro parts you don’t want to function as velcro?

I’m thinking maybe just elastic bands. I looked at some office supply stores today and most common runner bands aren’t really the right size.

Gonna do some more looking.

Could use these

but I didnt really want to spend more money

Elastic may make more sense in hindsight. I wonder if you could order a really long roll of that elastic/button fabric and use some sort of connector instead of sewing dozens of buttons?

I can sympathize as I’ve “saved money” before too… :man_facepalming:

At the risk of my sounding very dopey, have you considered tied-off string or strips of cloth?

Yes some twine would work but it’s just a bit more of a hassle to tie up than to throw on an elastic band. But yea, that’s certainly an option.

That’s fair. On the elastics front, maybe something made for hair, or for trash cans.

Oh that hair one looks perfect! Thanks. And if they don’t work out I bet both my wife and my cat will use them :joy_cat:

How about DIY length hook and loop straps?

Easy enough to tighten, and can make to length however you’d like, and pretty unexpensive

ha. That’s what I used! But in black. They’re very fun and easy to use and quite handy. But since the hook and loop is on the same side, when they touch each other they stick. Which is kinda not great for having them side by side on the shelf. When I go to pull one out, I end up getting at least 2…

I bought 2 rolls of them but I’m not sending the unused one back because I know I’ll find a good use for it around the house.

Hair bands will work! I had to perform a bit of surgery but it’s surprisingly easy and effective. The bands are slightly too big. So one band is loose, and wrapping it twice is too tight. I simply cut out about 3 inches of the loop and super glued it together. The inner core is rubber so it fuses very fast to the glue. This may be the solution. Now to get them all wrapped and tagged

Recently moved and still unpacking/setting up but was able to fit about 15 built boards in their carrying cases in this Pelican Hardigg case.

It’s how I’m storing the empty carrying cases at the moment too. Not sure where else to put the cases. I’m tempted to get another of these Hardigg cases.

I bought an Ikea REGISSÖR cabinet during the December sale and I just threw in my built and unbuilt keebs.
Gotta make more keyboard stands, but I guess it’s okay for now.

I also have keyboards on the opposite wall and in this other cabinet which holds my PBTFans trays and miscellaneous keycaps.

Then there’s the closet with another full cabinet of carrying cases and unbuilt keyboards, and this wall and rolling cabinet…

Everything’s a mess and I need more storage space MOAR LOL.

I also want to figure out where to put a little workbench/space for soldering.

Believe it or not, this situation is actually an improvement. The dog crate gets used maybe two hours per week and was just mocking me with its flatness.
