10u spacebar + center stepped caps will always be based in my heart.
Watched Fantastic Four: First Steps last night. I don’t have any images but Reed uses what I believe is an ortho layout with Teenage Engineering style keycaps (apologies, this is the best comparison I can come up with, I’m not sure where Teenage Engineering got their inspiration for buttons on their synths).
Ulm School/ Dieter Rams / minimalism all at work in their lovely designs.

Looks like a Winmix set. I don’t recognize it but it sure seems similar.
Looks like a blank AF SA R3 with custom decals to me.
I agree. I was just thinking that the design of the decals looks very winmix
Now that you mention it you can actually see the decals in the second picture. I wonder if it’s just simple waterslide decals.
huh I definitely see them now that you mention it. I wonder how simple water decals would hold up over time if you were typing on them?
Maybe you could get some sort of nail tech. person to put like a thin clear coat over them ![]()
I think just enough time to shoot the episode. ![]()
However, the care that is put into these details is truly incredible.
More or less I think this is how some companies are extending the life of pad printed and silk screened sets, with a layer of UV-hardened clear coat.
Afaik in model making you also use clearcoat after your decals. Love that they re-interpreted MOTHER from Alien, also in Romulus. The whole vibe is on my style I want to build list.
Here’s some shots from an article I found about the production design of Fantastic Four: First Steps. It’s hard to see the caps on the blue boards but they are tapered to a round top:
And here’s a big chonky fellow that I don’t remember seeing in the film itself. Looks like some SA R1 caps flipped on the bottom row:
What switches do we all think these are based on the sliver of white housing? ![]()
My guess is Drop Holy Pandas ![]()
That 5x10 ortholinear chassis does have strong “Drop Alt v1 screwed to a table” energy. ![]()
The work on those caps is pretty gorgeous, but…
Orientation is puzzling. ![]()
Pretty sure the wide key closest to the camera in this crop is a sideways numpad + or Enter, and those ones in the corner are like “
