Post Your Computer

Welp, I kind of redid my whole computer again. Replaced a few parts and the case to better suite the color theme with the GPU.

  • Asus TUF Z590-Plus WiFi mobo
  • 64gb DDR4-3200 Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro SL
  • DeepCool AK620 tower cooler
  • Fractal Torrent Compact
  • All fans except the two stock Fractal 180mm front fans were replaced with Be Quiet! Silent Wings 4 Pro 140mm on the bottom, 120mm on the rear, and 120mm mounted to the CPU tower cooler
  • White Antec power cable extensions and cable combs

Sold by now, but getting a look inside again also made me regret the sale. Completely RGB free :eyes:

Built myself a very small (11 liters) NAS after getting a great deal on 123TB (8x 15.36TB) of SSDs. It’s built in the Silverstone CS280 and is powered by a 5700G. Full build log/pics.

I dig the awesome photography in the log! As for the NAS, I really wish there was something like this but way more compact. I did build one years ago but also ended up with quite a clunky thing. Rn I’m eyeing at something like the TS-i410X but that is able to run TrueNAS. Haven’t found anything yet though.

Fractal just introduced the North last week and I had to move everything over to this beauty of a case. This is so far, my favorite case…great thermals, super good Scandinavian looks!

Lovely case

Yeah I love the look of it, if they make a mini version of it I will have a hard time resisting the black one.

Well, knowing Fractal you’ll probably be shelling out for one in 6 months then haha. They always come out with a smaller version.

I’ve also been tempted to move from my meshify case to a North, the looks are just too good to resist.

I switched to Linux as a daily driver, so I built an all-AMD PC to go along with that move. Going the de-lid route was a bit on the unnecessary side, but why not. No custom loop this time, but that may change when time allows.

Looks great and Fedora is a pretty great place to land!

Thanks! Kinda miss Tumbleweed, but it was just a bit too far on the edge to daily drive.

I switch between Debian and Fedora a decent amount for my Linux boxes. Between tiling window manager (Sway) pretty much always being set up the same for me and Flatpaks I don’t feel left behind not running a rolling release except for when I want to run brand new hardware.

Yeah, my homelab stuff is either Ubuntu or Debain. It’s just rooooooooock solid for that. I need to revisit tiling. I really enjoyed it when I used Manjaro i3 a ways back, but all my muscle memory is gone now lol.

Yeah, I’m pretty much all Debian for my homelab. Well… Proxmox and a bunch of Debian VMs.

TWMs are such a pain to setup the first time, but then kinda just fade into the background as something you never really need to think about, which is nice.
