Post Your Computer

My issue is with the GPU. Too noisy for my taste.

Desk setup is a bit janky at the moment so I’ll spare you the pics. (e.g. I’m using stacks of books for speaker stands because my desk is not wide enough )

I built the PC about two weeks ago. Not the biggest fan of the new PC case aesthetics and I really don’t care about RGB one way or the other, but it has great airflow with the mesh front panel and top.

Motherboard: Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite
CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x
CPU Cooler: Scythe Mugen 5 Rev.B
RAM: G.Skill Trident Z Neo 16gb (2x8) 3600mhz
Graphics: MSI RTX 2070 Gaming Z (transferred from previous PC)
PSU: Riotoro Enigma 850w (switching to Seasonic Focus PX-750)
Storage: Samsung 970 EVO 500GB M.2 SSD, Crucial 1TB SSD (transferred from previous PC)
Case: Cooler Master MasterCase H500 with Mesh front
Case Fans: 2x 200mm Cooler Master MasterFan intake fans (came with case), 1x Noctua NFS12A PWM Chromax exhaust fan. Considering going all Noctua at some point, but it’s plenty quiet enough.

Too lazy to post specs… it’s an older M1 Case from before they offered a window option, hence the giant magnets for a piece of custom cut glass.

Wow, that’s really clean! I had a hard time routing the front io cables cleanly. I removed the USB-C one as my motherboard doesn’t have the right header for it anyways but still.

Thanks! And yeah, my front io ports aren’t connected for that very reason, which is only occasionally annoying, but at least it looks pretty.

My next build will be using a smaller case like yours. I just can’t stand ATX cases any longer. How about the SSD? Where are they placed? How many can you fit in a small case like that?

I’ll post my computer once I uh… manage all of them cables >.>

Y’all are so clean and neat!

So, I actually only run 1 drive internal in the system, and it’s an NVMe drive on the motherboard. Just using a 960 evo. I believe it’ll fit 1 additional 2.5" drive easily, but I’m just running them in external enclosures because I didn’t feel like cable managing drives inside of a small case.

In builds like these it’s not really the drives themselves that annoy me to fit. I just try to avoid any unnecessary cable runs because it’s really annoying to manage.

I’m rockin’ the ol’ trash can Mac Pro at home—not as cool as all your custom PCs. This thing has seen a lot of action and still works great!

I found pics of another one:

Here is is partially assembled, to give you idea what it looks like running with all the blinkenlights.

Single core 12-bit CPU @ 0.667 MHz
RAM 4096 words, expandable to 32Kwords

Emulated on a Raspberry Pi Zero of course

Love the sleeper build! Wanted to do something similar with an old Gateway I have, but after a quick look it’s gonna take a huge amount of customizing to fit a normal ATX mobo & my current setup in to it.

Like any compact build power and cooling are the two big challenges. Finding a strong enough PSU that would fit around the mobo took a while and I’m still playing with cooling to get a good balance of cooling and noise. I have a Corsair H5 SF AIO ready to install which should sort that out.
