I just put in a order for the lights, but have been really considering the ultra lights. What’s everyone’s experience on the two.
I’ve had a keyboard with the heavies and the lights for at least a year each (My Fc660c had heavies for about two years and the lights for one year), but I always decided I liked the stock 45g domes over them. They were a little too fatiguing for my tastse. I also ordered a pack of extremes just for my esc and caps lock. They’re pretty heavy but maybe one day. I’ll try to daily them.
Hopefully the ultra lights will be a little better. I’m swapping out my 30g domes on my Fc980c for them

I gotta agree here, I put heavies in both my novatouch and hhkb and can’t use either for an extended period of time because my fingers get fatigued, been meaning to switch both back to stock.
They’re on the way. Just checked and they are in USPS’s possession.

Yeah. Assuming maybe a weekly trip to the PO to drop off orders.
I was worried that lights would be too heavy. They are not. I was worried that the ultralights would be too light. They are not. Both are excellent, just lighter and slightly heavier versions of the same tactile bump

Yay, I just checked my email too and see that they’ve already been shipped out. IIRC he ships out of SoCal, it’s pretty close to me already!
Glad to hear everybody’s orders are shipping out! I almost ordered a pack of the ultralights when I seen orders were actually shipping, but TBH I’ve been very happy with my 660C since I put the stock 45g domes back in. Hopefully this means Jchan is back & got his personal issues worked out!

Has anyone tried the silencing rings he has up there? They appear to be a different approch than any other topre silencing method I’ve seen and I’m very intrigued. My BKE lights do turn up the volume on the board.
I tried them. I had a hard time applying them and found that 1 was too little padding and 2 too much. I much prefer the deskeys option.

Any thoughts on the Deskey’s silencing rings with the domes? I got some #3 from deskeys but I wonder how they compare with the #4. I want more Thock but silenced.

I definitely like ultra lights better. They’re not that much heavier than 45g domes but much snappier and the tactile bump is much bigger. They feel like the 55g domes in my hhkb type-s with rf purple sliders, but slightly lighter. I think I’ll keep these on my fc980c for now and I’ll think about it again when my heavy-9 comes in.

I just dome swapped my FC980c with BKE heavy domes. I like the result, both audibly and functionally. The heavy BKE dome + #3 ring combo is definitely louder/thockier than the Topre 45g + #3 ring combo I was previously running. Sounds like horse hooves clopping down a stone street.

Edit: The ultralights are a great improvement over stock domes IMO! They sharpen the tactile event in a way that reminds me of my 67g zilents while weighing less and feeling ‘cleaner’ or less… clunky? Just down then up without the tiny pre-travel. It’s like I can feel that there are less parts moving in Topre which I find pleasant.
I found the rest to be impractically heavy though very satisfying and extremely tactile.
