Iām thinking about trying it out for giggles. But what happens to the glue and the pad when exposed to the heat from soldering? Maybe Iām overthinking this?

You might be, I am also thinking this doesnāt help the cause of switches staying inserted into hotswap boards either.

Youāve given me a terrible, brilliant idea. Waterbed mount.
Fill the keyboard case with an intert liquid (low viscosity silicon oil, Krytox oil?) to change the sound.

The bright red on dark red is a weird choice. Lots of ways to make red and gold work, though I donāt think this is one of them.
