Things that make us go... hmmm šŸ¤”

Long story short, crappy customer support. Again, it’s for the best. I would rather support smaller businesses anyway.

Really though. This could happen.

For sure. Personally, I will only buy in-stock sets from this point forward.

I was also shocked at the lack of a Brown Mod kit. They also continue to leave out the 1.25u R3 extras kit, making the set not very useable on 40s. I still ordered it. The allure of PETSCII is too strong, even with the maroon modifiers.

Aye. I’m likely going to hold off on MT3 Retro for if they decide to make a breadbin kit. If MT3 weren’t my favorite profile, I’d probably be out of reasons to keep shopping there. :stuck_out_tongue:

KEYBOARD WARRIORS ASSEMBLE

I respect your conclusion, and while I shop at Drop, I’m as neutral-ish on them as I am with most vendors. But FWIW since AlexPK started handling keyboard stuff, there’s been more openness and reception to feedback. So, based on what Dave posted above, I think there’s a reasonable chance of seeing breadbin at some point.

Already upvoted. keep it goin!

And for the record, it’s under the Q&A section linked here:

Ha, yeah - that’s my post. I’ve had that account forever and I’ve just been too lazy to email support and ask them to change it to ā€œDeadeyeā€ - I’ll probably do that eventually… thanks for the up-doots! Tell your frens.

Okay, here’s a keyboard layout that hurts my brain more and more each time I look at it:

I have recently discovered that there are people who bag lube switch stems, my God.

The main problem I see with this is…if you’re going to make a full-size keyboard, why mess with the standard layout? This doesn’t even look like it saves that much more space too (it’s also the reason why I’m not a fan of the 96% layout).

Although, I do like the addition of a backspace key on the numpad.

I’ve bag lubed my stems on about 20-30 keyboards, possibly more. Most consistent results you can get and saves hours  I think I’ve only hand applied lube to stems 3 or 4 times over the years. That was for box style stems.

Technically I ā€œtubā€ lube them since I use a 3oz platic jar to shake them.

It’s quite efficient if you use a small container. Also easy to tune how much lube you want. Too much on the surfaces? Wipe the walls of the container off with paper towel and reshake. Lube looks a bit light? Add a few swabs of lube here and there to the side walls and shake like a mad man.

My cat isn’t very fond of tub lubing though. She doesn’t like the noise. I usually wrap the tub in a dish towel to make the sound more bearble.

Wait. I thought you lubed 20-30 STEMS and re-read, and you did it for 20-30 keebs? It’s time to wash my glasses I guess…

Yeah, 20-30 keyboards. Honestly, it’s probably more. This is the main way I lube switches, and I’ve built over 100 keyboards throughout the years. Of course, some of them are unlubed, especially the earlier ones.
