I agree, like 2 of them look âokay.â But holy lord, this is really the best they have? The two âokayâ sets are what we have to look forward to over the next year?
I hope more keycap designers eventually sign on for DCX

The only one that looks okayish to me is Powertool but I donât understand that side mods same color as alphaâs and bottom row mods different color.
Iâm looking at the sets, colors are bleh and colors mixed everywhere with no comprehension thatâs just sad.
Whoever had the idea of mods with the same color as alphas and different color bottom rows clearly has horrible taste.
Almost all of the colorways are ugly. Such a shame.

agree, that was my #1 vote. probably b/c it doesnât have 5 different accent colors like most of the othersâŚ
How about a navy set? How about a deep brown set? How about a nice two-tone gray (similar to Muted)? Then sell accent kits in orange, yellow, pink, blue, and red. It isnât hard. You donât have to have a theme to make very nice looking keycaps.
Maybe weâre not seeing the whole thing. Maybe, for instance, the permafrost kit has base kit with all 1 color and that bottom row is an accent option. Maybe the confectionary set is all brown and the accents are optional. One can hope.

I think the one that gets me the most is Arcade - it seems like theyâre cribbing from their own designs there. It feels like a cross of MT3 Cyber and GMK Laser. Thatâs certainly not a bad thing, especially given my own aesthetic preferences but that just feels a bit overdone. Seedless also kinda looks like the inverse of GMK Poker (RIP).

I could totally go for DCX Cyber. I mean heck they could just do all the same ones theyâve already done in MT3; Dasher, Dancer, Camilio, Skiidata, etcâŚ

Iâve noticed an annoying trend of keyboard designers referring to standard ANSI with left-hand F-key columns as XT layout, which is factually incorrect, considering the real IBM PC/XT keyboard layout used a vertical enter key. I understand this isnât possible with modern keycap sets, but at least donât use the wrong name for it. (actually, now that I come to think about it, itâs possible by using the numpad enter key, but my point still stands).
