Iād rather just buy the file for a few dollars. Wish that was an option.
Then, you need to get old school and buy one of those power switches for your computer too, right?

Damnit. I wasnāt gonna buy any dumb stuff for a while, and yet here I am hovering over the buy option for the top half of a switch.
EDIT: ah, theyāre going with 3D printing. Interesting choice. I think in that case Iād much prefer to see a photo of an actual product rather than the rending. Phew, talked myself down off that one.
I love this idea, but I hate the price.
Fuck it, give me a couple weekends (or whenever I have free time) and Iāll whip up a design and 3d print some. Once Theyāre good to go Iāll send them out to the KT regulars because why not
Cool! If shipping aināt to much to Sweden it would be fun to get one
Not all heroes wear capes.
Is the Gizmo Engineering GK6 just a wildly expensive mid/low profile Preonic with a nicer finish? Itās $330 with a steel plate plus $60 if you want the silicone case dampener. Itās tray mount. It doesnāt even come with plate foam. It has a side-mount USB port. Am I missing something obvious that sets this so far beyond the Preonicās price point?
Per key RGB and made by Gizmo Engineering. Not worth it at all.
Not sure if that was sarcastic or serious?
I donāt see anything there that seems all that appealing to command such a price.
Theres a lot of strange design choices there. That USB hole location seems like it would interfere with mouse movement.
One of the official product photos seems to confirm your point about the USB port interfering with the mouse for right-handed users:
That neatly sums up what I was thinking. Iām not aware of any premium 50% orthos, but if I was looking to buy one, Iād expect to see high profile cases, better USB placement, and a more sophisticated mounting system to justify a $400 price tag.
Thatās, what, $30 worth of bent sheet metal? Kono has never been known for good value but this is a new level of ripoff, Iām kind of surprised they would agree to be a vendor for this. They really arenāt paying attention to the market here.
Edit: I read the description again, they actually machined it out of aluminum. Not sure why, since if they were using a CNC they couldāve made it look like something that doesnāt belong in a bargain bin.
Atlas and Kotai is the most premium 5x12 ortho I know of.
Sadly not compatible with the Preonic PCB, but this is also a very nice case:
ah, classic case of using āmayā instead of ācanā would work here
