What are you listening to today?

I’d like to share a little journey with you today.

No Regrets | 2001

This is the song that got me into Aesop Rock; a parable about creative integrity, among other things.

Rings | 2016

Aes’ own struggle with creativity.

Rogue Wave | 2020

The video features Aes’ drawings; significant in context of the previous song.

Long Legged Larry | 2021

Now he’s working on a children’s book. Seems to me like a positive, productive progression; looks like man’s living up to the allegory of his ideals he laid-out back in '01. For an artist whose work mostly centers around pain and struggle, it’s a heartening thing to see.

I promise I’ll stop spamming Aes videos… maybe… but this one came out today and it’s one of my favorite jams from his latest album:

There are so many tiny desk concerts, but this one may be my favorite:

Too much to get done today, relying on some Guthrie to carry me to the finish line.

I’ve found King Gizzard to be a real acquired taste. I absolutely adore some of their stuff, other stuff, I’m a bit more challenged by. This concert, as a whole, is pretty dang good though.

Open up your spreadsheet of all of your keyboards, keysets, GBs, and etc… Play this as the soundtrack as you look it over

I’ve been watching a lot of anime recently, such as Attack on Titan and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, so I’ve been listening to il vento d’oro recently, Golden Wind is my favorite JoJo series.

I bought this largely because Michelle Zauner resided in Oregon for some time, turns out it’s really quite good.

So simple, yet this groove never gets old.

As someone who hasn’t gravitated towards metal, this album absolutely shreds. I could not be happier right now listening to this. The energy is contagious.

I’m listening to GRISELDA. The rap group made of Conway The Machine, Benny The Butcher and Westside Gunn. It’s lyrical excellence in 90s gangsta rap jacket rocking tan Timbs.

Bungle! Didn’t expect to find him here. I was just watching a show from ‘91 a couple nights ago. Crazy stuff, “metal” but not always.
