It’s about as much metal as I think I’m willing to accept into my life right now. But it’s entirely consistent with what I’d expect from Mike Patton.
This is their latest album that released this week

That was absolutely outstanding in ways I couldn’t even begin to explain. From the novelty of the video itself, the traditional garments, to the diversity of voices. What a treasure. Moving too.
And lets not forget to mention that the wind instruments are literal goats. Well, were goats at least.

This song has been stuck in my head all day, but mostly because I’ve decided to listen to the album backwards to try to understand the alternate story.
PS: I have no idea how to make the youtube link look pretty.
More delightful weeb-disco
Of all the Future Funk artists that I like (and there are a lot), I think Strawberry Station might be my favorite alongside genre-giants like Yung Bae and Saint Pepsi.
I absolutely want this as a poster. I thought maybe it would be on his Merch site, but it hasn’t shown up… yet.
I thought it would be in the album or that the album cover would fold out, but not on the LP at least.
I was at the beach and was listening to this dark progressive Live frOm : burninG maN by VEIL
Some metal tonight, of the black variety
Del the Funky Homosapien | Dan The Automator | Kid Koala
DELTRON 3030
RIP indeed. Bad end to a very creative individual.
I queued up some random 80s hip hop today. Interesting to see what all the new folks are taking samples from.
Underground classic imo, so good
Well - I’m listening to Del again today, but I’ve got these in-rotation as well:
Laser Sharks by Savant, from the album Protoss:
Themed like the opening to a late-90’s Saturday-morning cartoon, this song tells the tale of the Laser Sharks - teenage mutants from outer space, American™ all the way, they’ve come to save the day.
Nostalgia is a Scam from Blockhead’s upcoming album, Space Werewolves will be the End of Us All:
This guy was my gateway drug into a whole realm of music I’d been previously unaware of - including the Aesop Rock jams I post pretty regularly. I first heard Blockhead back in college like 15 years ago, and I’ve enjoyed it ever since.
I’m also enjoying the new album from Strawberry Station, Smoothe Remixes - a curated blend of “Future Funk, Vapowave, Jungle, and Garage”:
I’ve had this song on repeat for 4 days
If u like it trippy but downbeat
Lyssna på the furtheRR transmissions [ live from symbiøsis ] av VEIL på #SoundCloud
Definitely one of those days.
From the very decent, “How Long Do You Think It’s Gonna Last?” album.
