Fingers crossed!
Hey, can i use this thread to inquire if anyone here has picked up a WKL ion x ai30 equinox and is looking to sell? (I know there is mm but i like keebtalk 1000 times better - you people are awesome)
You could try making a post in marketplace > classifieds too, might get more visibility from that.
Weird, I got all mine…
What’s more weird is I joined the first day it opened this last time. Very frustrating to say the least.
U must have the same mailman as me.
Got this 40%kit just to get the split spacebars and 1.75u shift.
Nice of them to include a cap puller when I ordered one wired puller…
Well I did get the brand new Percent Studio Volt in today… But I’m having issues with the board so will refrain from posting pics.
:o uh oh, anything you can disclose? This is a board I didn’t get but it definitely looked interesting to me
Well the main issue is that I can’t get any of the keys to register when connected to my PC. Not sure if it’s PCB related, firmware related, or something else I’m missing…
A few other issues with lack of documentation on their website, a fairly poor soldering job on a toggle switch (which might be broken out of the box), and a fairly clunky assembly process has left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth unfortunately.
Hopefully they respond with a solution because the board is pretty damn nice looking (e-white with yellow accents).
oof, that sounds like a pretty bad out of the box experience. I feel like out of box experience is not something that is always taken into consideration and a bad first impression can do a lot to shape the perception something.
This 100% IME as well! A bad first impression can totally ruin a product for someone, even if the product comes out OK in the end. I’ve had this happen a few times, thankfully not with a KB yet though.
Yeah for sure, definitely not a great first impression. And you’re right, it’s stick with you.
H1 switches!
Well I got the Volt to finally work. Turned out that the coiled USB cable was the main culprit. Switched to a straight cable and it’s working fine now for the most part (another issue was discovered with shorting of the board if the case is tightened too much…).
Some quick pics before I put some caps on:
Glad to hear you got it all figured out! The board looks great!
Mostly figure out haha.
Still need to figure out whats being shorted when the case is fully tightened. Percent told me not to tighten the top 2 screws because of this issue.
I’ll try a layer of electrical tape along the interior top section of the case to see if that helps.
Love it
That’s pretty frickin bad for a high end product. Sounds like someone skipped doing a stackup analysis.
