The black blank early-bird HuB keycaps by @evangs arrived on Tuesday in the P.O. box. Fetched them today. (And of course, exactly then it had to have a thunderstorm… Oh well, there’s no bad weather, just the wrong clothing. )
Now I’m trying to figure out which keys go onto which row. Hopefully this graphic will help:
Next question: On which keyboard? The set is meant for a 40%. But the only 40% I can type blindly with is the MiniVan. But on which MiniVan should I change the keycaps? I just love GMK Paperwork on the Catalyst and GMK SkIIdata on the black one. Maybe on the white one? Currently have SA-P Snowcap on it, but some keys don’t fit perfect (had to mount an Fn upside down as Backspace). Or do they fit maybe a TKL anyways? They look way more 1u keycaps than I’d need for a 40%—at least on Evan’s website.
Yep, figured that in the meanwhile, too. Very cool feature! Otherwise I really would have issues to distinguish R3 and R5.
Nope, R0 (F-row) is missing. And there are not enough wide Shift keys and AFAICT no wide Enter key, so it won’t go on a KC71 either (TKL without F-row).
And yes, the Escape/~ key is not yet sitting properly on its switch. Noticed it only after the picture had been taken and I was too lazy to make another one.
Oh man, glad to hear it! The main thing standing between me and building it is finding time to lube my switches Then I imagine it being one of my main daily drivers for sure.
Most took 2, i think Enter & shift took 3. I ended up using a full 120 baggie on my HHKB, even if it was some overkill and not really needed on some keys
I picked this set up from Drop the other day. Doing a Hawaiian shirt keyboard with a vinyl wrap and thought it’d be perfect. Glad to know I can expand compatibility and order keys from them directly.
