Man I hear a lot about those aqua kings since I saw them in random Frank p’s video
They’re really impressive for a stock switch. Well - like 2/3 of the bag is, anyway. Out of 120-ish, I got around 70 “A+” switches, 40-ish “B” switches, and 20 or so “C” or below (definitely including some D’s and F’s). If you’re willing to deal with that, the good ones are super smooth, super stable, and look super neat.
Hav high hopes for jjajang they are one of my fave korean noodle dishes.
So as you’re testing, what was the sign about whether they were good or bad? The few I’ve felt so far seem really smooth, but I haven’t checked them all.
Also, and I think I might have said this earlier, but I really did buy these for aesthetic reasons.
Honestly, same - but the community praise definitely helped.
Not too long ago I went through every switch and put them into vague piles based on how they felt. The “bad” ones were really obvious; slow return, drowned in lube, or not enough tolerance between the stem and top housing causing sticking or seizing.
The “OK” were less obvious, but for example they might be slightly more mushy with extra lube, or just tight enough to notice them being slightly less smooth - totally passable on a board for most people, but maybe not suitable to be alongside the rest mounted on a Norbauer or Keycult.
Okay, that’s helpful, thank you.
These switches are my first experience with tactiles and man are they fun to type on.
I’ve been in the hobby getting close to a year now and I’ve always used linears, this, this is different.
Got a bunch of Gateron Yellows with black bottoms to harvest for Deadpools… Just waiting on the Pro Burgundys and white tops from Gazzew now
Got a 3D printed case for the Discipline that I put together a few weeks ago. Jake does amazing work over at the P3D store.
Got my batch of Hippos in today also! Fairly impressive stock on a quick first impression, but I have read what @pixelpusher had to say about his batch already & feel like I might agree. Report back later once I can mess around with some of them & do some part swapping with other switches.
The burgundies came also and even though my Kailh switch opener and bulk Gazzew tops aren’t here yet I had a few tops left over so I couldn’t resist
That’s an unusually good-looking 3D-printed case you have there. Love that texture!
Got these 2 in the mail last week!
Geonworks F1 and IFK Mususbi
The reverse dye sub on IFK Musubi is kinda whack tho, picture compared to IFK Islander
Geez, has it really been more than two weeks since I posted stuff I received in the mail???
Oops, really let things get out of hand. Going to put photos in a hidden section to try not to make this post ridiculously long when folks are just trying to scroll through this topic.
MOST of this is just me rounding out things that were missing from my collection, but there are also a few exciting things in here. Here’s a list so you can know if there’s anything in there you want to peep:
- Domikey x Kailh Cyberpunk - Clear/Purple/Green variant
- EVIL AIRY
- Gazzew Bobagum
- Kailh BOX Crystal
- Kailh BOX Crystal Royal
- Kailh BOX Crystal Pink
- Kailh BOX Crystal Jade
- Kailh BOX Crystal Navy
- Kailh Burnt Orange
- Kailh Pale Blue
- Kailh Canary
- Kailh Pro Plum
- Kailh Pro Sage
- Thic Thock Konpeitou
- SP-Star Kon MOMO
- SP-Star Meteor Orange
- SP-Star Luminous - Cyber variant
- Nightwalker Solaris
Lots of switches
Domikey x Kailh Cyberpunk - Clear/Purple/Green variant
Already had the Pink/Purple/Blue variant, but figured it was worth rounding out that stock with the other variant
EVIL AIRY
Similar situation: already had the MIAMI variant, figured it was worth rounding out with the AIRY variant
Gazzew Bobagum
I don’t even like linears but, hey, they’re really cute and they’re not a recolor of a linear I already have (no knock against recolors, I’m just not going to prioritize collecting linear recolors since I don’t use linears and I have to scope my collecting somehow)
Kailh BOX Crystal
This is weird in that it looks like it should just be the crystal housing variant of BOX Whites, but it is in fact a tactile?
Kailh BOX Crystal Royal
Already had BOX Royals, but figured it was worth including the Crystal variant in my collection as well
Kailh BOX Crystal Pink
You know the drill; it’s a variant I didn’t have and I actually like clickies, so… you know
Kailh BOX Crystal Jade
Yep
Kailh BOX Crystal Navy
Uh-huh
Kailh Burnt Orange
I have a single BOX variant of these in my collection but I didn’t have the non-BOX variant
Kailh Pale Blue
Same situation: had the BOX variant but not the non-BOX variant
Kailh Canary
I have yet to open these or play with them so I can’t really say much, but at least they’re not just another variant for my collection’s sake?
Kailh Pro Plum
Didn’t have one of these, weirdly enough
Kailh Pro Sage
Nor did I have one of these! Weird!
Thic Thock Konpeitou
What a pain it was to try to snag these when they went up! Missed when they went up on AlphaKeys (when I could have gotten only what I need) so if anybody in CONUS wants the leftovers from my too-large Thic Thock order, uhhhhhh… hit me up in DMs?
SP-Star Kon MOMO
Beautiful
SP-Star Meteor Orange
My least favorite colorway SP-Star has done so far
SP-Star Luminous - Cyber variant
Really should have ordered some of the Starry Night variant as well but I am consistently a fool
Nightwalker Solaris
Two glow-in-the-dark switches in one massive post!
What a haul! I missed some really good clearance items on Novelkeys, but I did get a nice bucket of Polias and some of the remaining Box Crystal Pinks and Navies out of the sale.
I’ve been curious about some of these, like the ThicThock one, the Canary, and that switch sold simply as “Box Crystal” without a color designation.
In comparing regular and crystal royals, the crystals feel more smooth and solid, but have a less extreme tactile cliff. I’m thinking this is a combination of slightly higher spring weight and different lubing… it might be time for BOX vs BOX round 2…

How’s the N/S and E/W wobble on the SP-Stars?
I had to try some Krytox Stay Puft Creme (terrified to use this stuff btw).
The springs are my last attempt a decent Copre build (with lubed Cherry Silent Black’s). Gat Clear springs were too heavy, and no springs were way too light (and had a poor return). With a few switches, these springs seem to do the trick. I’ll have to get a board together for more thorough testing.
I love that you filled the bin in the background with the corresponding switch in each snap
