What did you get in the mail today? (Part 1)

Porcelain Blues! The post office definitely took an…innovative approach to getting them here but I’m glad they’ve finally arrived. The Kara just got my Aqua Kings that I just spring swapped with 53g symmetric springs but these will definitely be next on my list to try out.

Forgive the cat-addled deskmat, but DSS Drank got here and is a perfectly purple complement to my UT47.2!

원조정기름떡볶기

First Tteok-bokki I ate was this, back in late 60s, made by the old lady who came up with the recipe. Tasted amazingly good. Sadly they are pre-made now which is why it ends up tasting like a oily mess of red pepper. The proper way to eat it is to have it made just before eating.

UPDATE: More detail. The old lady had a heated pan and a small stack of rice cake on the pan being warmed. When a customer comes, she poured a bit of oil on a pan and ask “spicy?” If answer is yes, she’d scoop out a chunk of red pepper and spice out of a can and onto the pan. She’d roll the rice cake into the mix then ask “crispy?” If answer is yes, she’d press rice cake a bit into the pan to make crust. If customer doesn’t want spicy, she’d pour a bit of soy sauce and call it done. This is why there are 3 variants of the recipe.

I order my asian stuff in several stores where I live. Depends on where you live. Me in germany I have 4 good stores’. When one cannot ship, the others can.

@donpark cant weait. I had them as Instant version jjangmyeon style. But I needed new gochujang anyways and thought…why not try to amke them myself.

I wish i could one day visit korea and spend my days trying all the food.

Vast majority of Korean food originated from home cooking so making them at home is perfectly fine. Don’t forget to try adding cheese on top.

I finally got my aaru board from Helix labs. I can’t wait to build it since it’s going to tie my setup together perfectly

Very nice and unique keyboard!
Also with all these fine engravings I could not believe the price was so low!

I do not know if it is true, but the makers of the Aaru claim it takes 24 hours total machine time for each piece. I kind of doubt it unless these are being cranked out at a huge shop, because they accepted 1400 orders and are selling them at a normal Alum TKL price.

If that’s all metal, like all the raised details? Then I could see that being plausible. I’d have to believe they had quite a few CNC Mills dedicated to the work.

I think they shipped it via carrier pigeon across the Bering Strait, and it came in 10 packs of 10, but here are my 100 Meteor Orange switches ordered in June:
